Angry Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a 98 civic ex automatic, When i put it into park it surges up and down from 500 rpm to about 3000 rpm. When i put it into drive it idles still at about 1500 rpm and pulls forward. I wanted to try the iacv before i took it to a shop but i cant find it on my car. It is not on the back of the intake manifold does anyone know where it could be or any other ideas how to fix the problem thanks.....

It's on the bottom of the throttle body on an automatic. The plug comes out the back. I can't quite see it on your picture.

Make sure your throttle cable goes slack and the throttle plate closes completely when not pressing the gas pedal. Check all the vacuum lines and the connection between the throttle body and the manifold, and the manifold and the engine. Anything that lets extra air leak into the intake manifold will cause the idle speed to increase.

I guess the best way to do that is to go by the auto store and have them hook up the computer to it right?

The high idle is probably not a sensor or ECU problem, it's an air leak issue.

Whenever you have multiple codes, make a note of the numbers, then reset them and see which ones reoccur. Some of the codes may be from old problems that were transient in nature and have resolved themselves. You need to eventually get everything working so the CEL stays out in order to have full performance.

More detailed codes are available by using an OBDII scanner instead of the jumper wire and blinking light method.

But again I don't think the codes are going to tell you much about the idle problem.
