does my o2 sensor effect my car's performance (d16z6)
the o2 sensor controls the air fuel ratioso if u go in depth with it i guess u could say it does effect it. if ur car is running lean it will tell the computer to richen the mixture and the same thing if its rich

Absolutely, by precisely determining the amount of oxygen present in the exhaust, the O2 sensor (in conjunction with the ECU) allows the engine to run at the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio (=peak performance).

if you are not getting enough oxygen then you are car will start to use more fuel. Like Ron said there is a certain stoichiometric ratio that must be met, and if one is decreasing then the other has to increase
