nope all 96-00 civics clusters are interchangable, no new wires to add.
simple plug and play.

yes and if you want to keep your milage true then you can pull the cluster apart, first remove the cluster, and then turn the two upper outter bezel bulb with the wires on it so you can pull off the black bezel part if you dont the wires wont let you pull it off, now pull off the clear front bezel and the black bezel and face overlay, all of those come off with simple plastic tabs you just push over and pull the face apart... now DO NOT TOUCH THE NEEDLES OR THE SCREWS ON THE GAUGES FACE!!!!!! DO NOT!!!! youll snap the needles off really easily and they do not go back on.
now with the front of the face all opened up then look at the backside of the cluster and remove the 4 philips scews on the center section, and this will allow the speedometer section to come out the front once those screws are gone, then just pull the second cluster apart and reverse and put it back together with your stock milage still 100% correct and true! just when screwing those 4 screws back in BE CAREFULL only give them a snug fit, if you try and tighten them to hard they can break the internal wire and youll be screwed and have to use the incorrect speedometer milage section! so just be carefull to only snug the screws!

If you have a K20 like in your sig then I hope you got a cluster with a tach that goes high enough
