I have an 02 civic EX automatic and sometimes when i drive out of no where the rpms will hit about 7k then go to 0k, then engine then cuts out and at the same time i hear a clicking noise from the dash board, then the engine comes back on.

I have no clue whats wrong, i went and had the altnernator checked, i didnt know if that was it i just had it checked just in case, does anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it?

 

Check the ground wires on the engine. Especially the little ones on the thermostat.

Also you could go to a parts store and have them scan the ECU for any codes. Write them down and reset the ECU to see if they're going to reoccur. Don't go buying any parts yet.

 

i forgot to mention they checked the that and no codes came up, sorry, but i will go check the wires to the thermostat
