Default e-brake

It seems when i go to use my e-brake i have to pull it excessivly far to be able to slide. If i give it a slight/moderate pull it will just slow me down. Im replacing my front and rear brakes tomorrow will this help? Is this normal or do i have to do some work?

i think it should help. also ask them if they can adjust when ur ebrake kicks in, they should be able to do it without too much trouble.

well id say lift the rear end off the ground alittle bit then spin 1 wheel... see how much it drags...... THEN pull the ebrake afew clicks and spin the tire again.... if it has a drag id say its fine..... but if it spins the same simply pull the center console trim off and tighten down the rear bolt/nut along the cable and it will tighten up the ebrake cable. just be SURE that the wheel doesnt drag with it completly off... otherwise youll probably warp your drums/ wear your pads out and just DRAG @SS around town.LMFAO

but i think for MOST civics at least the ones ive driven ALWAYS had to have the Ebrake handle just about ALL the way up to lock the wheels to make them slide on dry ground . just remember its JUST A EBRAKE.... dont use it to do all your stoping or even half of it... will cause alot of wear plus not as safe.

Save the bootlegger turns for video games. If the e-brake can make the wheels lock up even though the handle may be nearly all the way up, it is working properly.

If the car has drum brakes on the rear, a common reason for the e-brake to become loose is that one of the self-adjusters is not working. This also reduces the performance of the regular foot brake.
