Unhappy ecu problems

this is kinda a shot it the dark but i need help. i did a mini me swap with a d15 block with a d16y8 head. i have the new ecu to run the vtech. now my problem comes in with the new ecu i have try like 10 base map and none of them run right. i was told and read that is is a p28 base map and it sould run like a dream with vtech. with all the base maps the is a massive fuel and air dump and the rpm will not exceed 4000. the stock ecu runs fine but no ecu no vtech. i have a push button vtech hooked up and i works . i just want the ecu to run like it should. i have checked my wiring 5 times and no fuses are poped. i have tryed a 2nd p28 ecu samething happens. i am using chome to burn the chip. idk what the hell is going on has any been here b4 with a mini me swap. i just need some help

You need to calibrate the ECU for a 1500 cc engine not a 1600. Changing the head does not change the displacement of the engine. A stock P28 assumes the engine is 1600 and will give it too much fuel.

i think you have a friend or something giving you bad info..
its vtec not vtech, vtech is a name of a phone, also the d15 non vtec dizzy will not match bolt holes up to a 1.6 vtec head.
now if you have a cel on the ecu will not engage vtec so do you have a cel on?

Trust and 94chb have the right idea. Here's your problem: a car ECU isn't made to run a phone. If you pushed buttons on the phone to retrieve a CEL, you probably gave it a CEL instead. That will definitely make it run "grate" and could lead to the problems you are experiencing.
