i got an electric problem in my car, the function works but like my instrumental lights dont work, my signal dont work

my emergency lights work but when it goes on only the left signal turns on and then when i signal right with the emergency light on the right signal goes on but when i dont press the emergency light both my signals dont work

my head light signals turn on but dont signal when signal


another symptom is when the emergency light is on, and u turn off the car and take out the keys and left hte emergency light on the car stays on .. its all weird ..

someone please tell me whats wrong

i checked all the fuse everything is working .. something is wrong wire loose or something i dont now where .. i tooked off the front end and try to find a problem but everything seems fine .. i did get a front end accident recently though

I think you may have two separate problems, one with the instrument light brightness controller and one with the turn signal circuit. Regarding the former, start with the remote possibility that your instrument panel brightness switch is simply turned down or, more troubling, defective.

The two attached pictures may help you troubleshoot the instrument light problem.

See next post for the turn signal problem.

For the turn signal problem, I recommend you test the turn signal/hazard relay (see pictures for circuit and troubleshooting).

(By the way, the diagrams are for 1996-1998 Civics)

oh man after hella god damn headaches .. i cant believe i found out what it was !! after doing the turn signal/hazard relay inspection i thoguht it was a ground seriously !!! so i opened the damn hood, search for all the damn ground , sand the **** out of them but nothing worked. ...but damn after ****ing around .. and remember the last thing that i did to the car .. and i was like hey .. wat if i switched the hazard buttom, luckily i still had my old one ... and then everything start working again .. i laughed my *** off on how ridiculous it is !! and who i got to thank for my progress??? no one but ron J !!! thanks man
