Engine Bogging
Hi all I'm trying to help someone out, but I am coming up short on solutions. Maybe you guys will fair better. Save me Ronj! lol.
Anyways the car just got transpalnted a fresh engine, and now it kinda hesitates and bogs at around 3 grand. Here is a vid...

Any idea why?

That's too much pressure. I'm not that good!
What's the setup?
Can I assume there's no CEL and that the plugs/wires/cap/rotor are fine?
I'd start by checking the ignition timing.

Ignition timing out of spec can act that way. Was the video showing the tach when the engine was revving in neutral? If so, does it bog worse under load?

Not sure I'll ask him. I'll get the info for you.
Edit- I think he went to bed lol no answer. I did some research and it could be the knock sensor going out telling the ecu to falsely adjust the timing. Although that might only be with ob2 cars, but I don't know what his is lol.

Does the problem not happen with no-load revving in neutral? If so, I would characterize the problem as misfire under load. He may want to check (1) the fuel pressure, (2) cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and (3) the ICM in the distributor.
