Engine Burning lots of oil

Alright....finally got a compression test


results are as follows


Dry
1 160
2 160
3 160
4 160

Wet

1 170

As you were burning oil and probably coolant, did you have two problems, a bad head gasket and bad valve seals?

bad pcv valve..the oil burning was gone after i replaced that...

uh...well...yeah..epic fail!..i only think it was effecting the middle 2..those are the ones that had off compression test

and i guess the engine could have been burning a little oil from the head gasket too..cause there was definitly oil in the water and water was in the cylinders..

I assumed all four cylinders had low compression as they were all 160 dry, whereas I thought they should be about 180. Wouldn't the wet test only measure leaking from piston rings?

well..i figure if it could get oil into the cylinders just as easy from a bad head gasket as it could from bad ring seals.....either way oil was getting into the cylinders.
