engine check light

I get this check light in my 95 civic lx and I have to wait sometimes about 10 seconds to clear before I can start my car. Otherwise it will keep trying to start.

How can I get rid of this? Do I have to see a mechanic about this or can i diy?

The main relay is a well known problem that will cause this on 1988 to 1995 models. See the DIY section of this board for main relay repair.
