Engine Cleaning

Default Engine Cleaning

Ok, well my engine is really dirty and needs to be cleaned. Is there a simple way that i can do it or will i have to take it apart?

if im not mistaken all you really need to do is cover the altenator and any un insulated wires and just hose it down, i think they have stuff you can spray on your engine before you wash it, but usually what it do, since my car is new it has alot of plastic other than metal which is easier to clean and i just used interior cleaner, and spray on wax on the engine bay

i think what i remember reading is like what 08 said, cover your alternator, battery, anything no insulated, and i think cover the bay with some sort of de-greaser. im sure theres brands out there that are made specifically for engines, always is. i had a buddy at honda that would detail my engine for me, but now that i moved im going to have to do it on my own, so im right there with ya haha.
