engine dies during warm up, restart is fine
96 Civic. Recently purchased this car. Has cold air intake???? Engine starts fine. As if warms up it dies completely. Let it sit a minute and then it restarts and runs fine the rest of the trip. When I check there is no spark. Fuel pump is clicking fine. Replaced the main relay and problem persists. Worried that this will get worse. Any ideas
Check for ECU codes. If there aren't any codes it could be the ICM ("Igniter") module inside the distributor. They tend to get intermittent when hot.
Also check (when it won't spark) that the distributor is getting power on the black/yellow wire when you crank.
