First forget that you put new axles on, that should not have anything to do with it. Go through the standard diagnosis of a car that won't crank.

Do you hear any noise from the starter at all? Do other electrical things in the car still work? Do the headlights and/or dome light stay on when you try to start, or not? If it's manual, you could try to roll-start it.

Some possibilities to consider:

-Low battery charge
-Bad safety starter switch at top of clutch pedal or the rubber stopper has fallen out or broken
-Bad starter
-Did you happen to disconnect the transmission ground wire when you replaced the axles?
