Default engine heating problem need help

So I go with my friends to six flags from new york..... I'm driving in traffic for a good hour, then we hit a nice highway for about a half hour, when I hit 65 mph or higher my temperature engine gauge would rise towards hot, but when I maintained a speed lower it would be fine and go back down towards the middle.......I'm hoping this is not a major problem, maybe a radiator clog?? Both fans work and I has a good amount of coolant in the resovir, if it matters I hope this has nothing 2 do with it but I went from conventional oil to royal purple synthetic about 3 weeks ago, need some help guys

With the engine cold, take the radiator cap off and confirm that the radiator is full. Having coolant in the reservoir doesn't prove anything. The fans don't matter at 65 mph. It's also possible for the little fins on the air side of the radiator to corrode and fall off, had that happen to mine. It will still hold water but it will heat up on the highway like yours did.
