so in my 93 civic dx when the engine gets to its normal temp the engine begins to rev up by itself, and white smoke comes out of the muffler every time it revs up. its impossible to drive like this anyone know what the issue is?

Default RE: engine mind of its own?

Considering related information in your other thread, the white smoke likely indicates that coolant is leaking into and burning in one or more cylinders. You may have a blown head gasket or a cracked or warped head. It would be a good idea to do a compression test on each of the cylinders.
