Default engine mounts?

Well, I have lost thread where we were talking about engine mounts, but anyway.

I was reading on how busted up engine mounts can cause the engine to shake alot when idling, so I got to looking and my passenger side mount and its cracked up and dry-rotted pretty bad, in fact some of it it missing all together.

I wondered how difficult it would be to replace them, and how expensive the oem's are.

If i am going to replace that one I might as well replace them both.

I am hoping this will solve my semi-rough idle problems, since I'm not stalling out or anything, just kinda rough at the light.

I used inserts on mine. They work great, If you dont mind feeling the engine more. I like them though.

You press them into the dead space in your old mounts. Here is a pic to give you a better idea of what I am talking about.

Did you even follow the link? They are around $50 for the set.

So you just pop them in and they stay? I haven't really ever checked out an engine mount. It looks like its packed with some sort of rubber, I am guessing I pry it all out and snap the new ones in ?

Looks like a cool investment.

No you they fill up the space in the old mount. You leave the old rubber in there and the inserts slide into the holes in the old rubber. And trust me they will stay there. I had to use a vise to press mine in.

So you have to remove the mounts to assemble the inserts then? Can you do that without the engine falling out?

Sorry, I have never messed around with these things, I don't wanna screw something up, lol. And I am limited on tools atm, slowly building my mechanic's tool set.
