Default finding rev limit for 96 civic DX

Hey what's up all, I'm a newbie, just found this forum today. Just bought a '96 civic DX hatchback 'bout 2 months ago, and I drive spirited but not all out, since I have a sh*tty stock 106hp engine. Oh yeah and 5 weeks after I bought the car, which only had 1 owner and 100k miles on it, the engine blew while i was cruising on the highway at 50 mph. Got it replaced with a used but same stock engine with 40k miles on it. Anyways, I'm planning on installing a tach in the car so I can keep an eye on the rpm's, but I'm trying to find out what the stock rev limit is for a '96 DX engine so I can set the tach limit properly. Tried looking on this site and the internet, but no luck. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I think its like 5.5 or something close to that. Too bad you didnt just drop a b16 in there... that would have been cool.

yo all, thanx for the input...i did my own research, i found out that my engine peeks at 106hp at 6200 rpm, and the rev limit is 6300...sucks but i can still whip it around pretty good without the low limit bothering me too much. Like i said i just got the car 2 months ago, and im a broke *** college student, so in time ill def have a b16 or similar in their....and the shop never told me why the engine blew up, just said something internally blew...f'n bull**** cuz the used car dealer tried blamin it on me overrevvin it and beatin on it, which is bull**** cuz i learned my lesson from my last 2 civics. Oh yeah and right when i came back to get my car with the new engine in it, he told me the tranny was making a certain sound that he thought meant it had less than a year left on it, f'n ******* [:@]...but what can ya do...peace
