fitv question

Default fitv question

my engine has been reving high and i sprayed some carb cleaner around the fitv and it bubbles around it .

What car and engine? Where exactly do the bubbles appear? Post pictures.

its a 94 honda civic 1.6 vtec and it bubbles where the fitv meets the throttle body and its reving high like 2-2500 rpm

Take the large intake pipe off of the throttle body. Note that there are three air holes in the side of the throttle body before the plate. Start the engine and put your finger over the hole in the bottom, it feeds the FITV. If that hole was sucking air and covering it makes the engine slow to normal idle, the FITV is stuck open.

Replace the rubber FITV gasket and also clean and adjust the FITV. Click the FITV link in my signature.

@ RonJ can u buy the FITV at a parts store or at the dealer? im having problems with my idle it surges just wondering if i can clean it in stead of buying it ?
