Default Fitv questions

What effect on cold/hot idle does it have when you screw the inside round plastic piece all the way in versus having it a few turns out?

I know but this has absolutely nothing to do with my question. I am talking about the FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve) which allows the car to fast idle on cold starts. If you take it apart to clean it, the valve inside is adjustable. Some people screw it all the way in, some people leave it out a few turns. Anyone who is aware of this, could you tell me the difference it makes having it turned all the way in versus a couple turns out?
Thanks

ah.. I took it out before and spray some cleaner inside in the past when having idling issue. It just a valve, you can remove and reinstall then adjust the idle to your liking..

I think I back up 3 turn when I did mine. If closed, idle would be rough, you'll need to loose it a little.

Valve is supposed to be open below 60F coolant temperature and fully closed above that. So I guess you would put the valve in a place that is 60 degrees F and then adjust the screw so it just closes.
