Default Fuel economy issues still

98 Civic LX 164000 miles. Recently has new timing belt and water pump, distributor E3plugs NGK wires new aftermarket CAT and new tires as well. It used to get 300 miles per tank now only 200. timing was previously about 2* retard, tried at 2* advanve with no change. NO ckeck enging lights or codes. PCV works properly.. Any ideas what would cause this much of a drop without throwing any codes???

^^^That's a bold statement.

To get some ideas on what to check, have a look at this thread:

Also make sure you are adjusting the ignition timing with the service connector jumped and aligning the pointer with the red mark on the crank pulley.

Thanks Ron, (once again) I had my timing too retarded, just like the operator I set it correctly and now its about right. Drove 40 miles allready and gas gauge has bairly moved. Looks good for now. Thanks for helping me un-stupify....
