FUEL ECONOMY & PERFORMANCE ISSUES - BAD PCM?

RE: FUEL ECONOMY & PERFORMANCE ISSUES - BAD PCM?
i dont know if there is a fix, but i know there is a workaround
i know my friend has an appliance that he connects to his obdII port and he can play with a mixture, makin it rich or poor depending on his driving needs. not sure what exactly he is using, plus its on the diesel f250
but im sure they have this for civics as well.

RE: FUEL ECONOMY & PERFORMANCE ISSUES - BAD PCM?
Thought I'dclose the loop on this. I discovered the source of my poor fuel economy...a stuck PCV valve. I would never have thought a PCV valve contributed so much to fuel economy. That had to be one of the most difficult things I've had to replace on that civic. Back up to 38 - 40 mpg again!
On a side note, I'll say that I'm dissappointed I didn't get more help from the super tuners on this forum.
Cheers.

RE: FUEL ECONOMY & PERFORMANCE ISSUES - BAD PCM?
Davejurek: I believe ethanol has about 10% less energy than gas. Using 10% ethanol might lower you mileage by 1%, but that is all. All gas here in Illinois and Iowa (corn country) has ethanol in it, and my last tank on my '06 LX manual was 39.8MPG.
Note: The ethanol replaces other anti-knock compounds (remember lead) which also had lower energy, so the actual difference you may notice is nil.

davejurek,
how did you check the pcv valve to determine that it was stuck? shouldn't it also cause other issues like idle? I heard that it can. but in your case, it didn't. i have a 98lx and so i know mine will need to be replaced too at some point.
