fuel issue
2000 civic LX 1.6 D16y7 5 sp....i was checking out a thread over on Honda-Tech from 2012--
://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/95-civic-d16z6-runs-but-wont-take-gas-3031341
It was said that the fuel pump supplies a much higher pressure than is needed and the fuel pressure regulator reduces this pressure to whatever level the engine is suppose to run at. I have a problem of my car not starting.....i have a pressure gauge on top of the filter in place of the banjo bolt. I turn the key to listen for the humming which i do hear but the pressure reads zero. I changed the fuel filter because it had been some time since i had done so I never changed my fuel pressure regulator before either....never had a reason to. But as i took the old filter out i noticed it looked as thought whatever is inside those things was jammed all the way up to the outlet. the new one was not like that
could my fuel pressure regulator have went bad raising my fuel pressure through the roof? And with me changing it i still dont get any fuel pressure readings on my gauge. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And no CEL's either.

Does the engine run? If it runs you have fuel pressure and there must be something wrong with your test rig. If it does not run, leave the banjo bolt out entirely and turn the key on briefly and see if fuel comes out.
