funny idle hesitation
hi i`m a newbie here i have a 96 civic my car has been parked for about 5 days not being started. today i went to work , and i went to back into my spot and it seemed like it was boggiing down. so i got out of the car and worked the throttle with my and and it would shake the whole motor, almost sounding as if it were underwater, then the idle would come up, and it was fine, until i worked the throttle by hand, it seemed like it did that after the car warmed up. can someone give me a clue at this problem. i thought maybe a egr valve, cause it kinda had a funny smell almost like a rotten egg. thanks guys
Does the Check Engine Light stay ON when you drive?
First try cleaning the IACV:

Also check whether the throttle cable is loose:

hi, when i first start the car it`s fine, then when it warms up. the idle is still fine it`s when it has a load on it the engine kinda sounds like it`s underwater, but once the rpm`s come up the car will rev up and idle back down to a normal idle, then i`ll give it gas again, same thing it sounds like it`s underwater and shakes then it will be fine and then the same thing will happen again. the car was fine when i parked for them 5 days, i don`t understand what happened.
I misunderstood the problem, but still clean the IACV.
Sound likes it's misfiring. When was the last time you replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor?
Check whether any plugs looked fouled. If so, replace the plugs and wires, and also check the distributor cap and rotor for damage and corrosion.
