Default Gas/Clutch Resistance

Fairly new to this forum as well as hondas and cars in general, so I apologize for any mistakes ahead of time

Well, I own a '97 Civic EX.. and it seems like the pressure of my gas and clutch (can't really tell if its brakes as well, but I highly doubt it), fluctuates each time I drive it. Sometimes the gas and clutch will seem a lot easier to push down on, and some days it will seem like there is a lot of pressure coming from the pedals as I step on them.

I also noticed that when it seems like there is a lot of pressure coming from the pedals, when I turn the car off it seems like there is a release of air pressure coming from somewhere outside the car (possibly the exhaust?)

If somebody could please give me some advice as to what could be possible causes to this, I would really appreciate all the help, thank you.

i have this same problem at the current second. i believe its because of the alternator belt. mine started slipping and when it does i can feel the diff in my pedals. unfortunately i havent tightened the belt yet to see if that was the problem but i never had it until my belt loosened up. give it a try and see what it does.

It doesn't seem like the alternator should affect the gas/clutch at all (they're not even related systems, the throttle and clutch don't use any electrical except for the clutch safety switch, as far as I know).

That said, I honestly don't have a clue what it might be without being able to put my hands on it, sorry That's a bit odd. I'm at work right now but will do some research later if somebody more knowledgeable hasn't chimed in by then.
