Default Gas gauge

just wondering if any one else has had a problem with their gas gauge not working. I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX. I have had numerous problems with my car from the start. Today I filled up my tank and the needle stays just a little belowhalf a tank. I am really hoping that it isn't broken but with my luck it probably is.

If it is broken and the dealer wanst to charge a arm and a leg, just buy a scanguage that hooks into your OB2 port. You can enter data about your gas tank size and that will tell you how much is left, how far you can go and how you you can go till you're on empty. ALso, it's a great guage for helping in improving your MPG

usually it's either the sending unit in the tank itself, or it's the magnetic unit in the gauge cluster itself, sometimes they burn out.

well i drove around for a bit and it unstuck from half a tank to a full tank. my fiancee over filled the tank and I am wondering if maybe that caused the gauge inside to get stuck. i figure if it doesn't go down to half a tank after two days of going back and forth to work then something is wrong. not sure if over filling would cause this problem but its worth a shot in the dark....
