Hi, there, I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX. Today, I move my car to repark to a differnet spot on the street. When i hit on the gas padel, it's harden feels like a rock. I recall in memory that I might have encounter this situation before, however, I think it just unharden after time. After 3 hrs, i retry and the gas padel is harden again??? Is there anything had to due with dirty brake fluid? If anyone have any clue or what I should do to check out, please let me know. yes, i will need to bring this over to technician to have them check it out but don't want to rip off for knowing nothing about in advance.

if it's the same thing, the same problem happens with 99-02 silverados because they somehow build up a lot of carbon in the throttle butterfly. when it is very hot, it's extra sticky. best way to fix the problem is remove the intake and inspect for carbon build up. if it's not a problem, then you may need to replace your throttle cable. there might be a damaged section on it making it catch every now and then.

 

I had the same thing happen before. If you look in the throttle body you can't really see anything. But, if you spray it with some carburator cleaner (with the engine off) it should stop sticking.Unless like ej6 said, it might be a wore out cable.

 

I guess it is also a problem with the00-02 Chevy Tahoe also bc that is something i notice when i drive my moms car (an 01tahoe)around.I will have to tell my dad to try that to fix the problem.

 

now the car dont' even start. The lights and AC so the battery is good. Is there something else going on? thanks.
