my car keeps grinding in 1st gear at a stop. sometimes it grinds in higher gears too but rarely. the car has 72000 miles and needs an oil change in 300miles. i cant think of any problem though.

 

are you saying it grinds when you try to put it in gear or it trys to pop out of gear and starts to grind. when did it start? did it start slowly and now is getting worse?

 

Test whether the manual transmission (MT) fluid is low. You also should consider draining the fluid and replacing it with fresh HONDA MT fluid.

 

It just started recently. Usually happens when Im parking and Im putting it in 1st gear. Im at a complete stop and it just wont go into 1st sometimes then I have to put it back in neutral and push down the clutch again and it goes in. Or sometimes when Im at a stop light and Im in neutral then I put it in 1st and it grinds.
