Default Getting Upper Ball Joint Threaded on knuckle?

Do I need to jack the LCA up for the upper ball joint on the upper control arm to mate with the knuckle? In other words, to have enough bolt showing to thread the castle nut on. I've got the lower ball joint with plenty of thread. Didn't notice if I'll have a problem with the tie rod yet.
