Default Gotta love the surging idle

Hi guys, my H23's idle surges. I know about the FITV and the IACV, but it still surges when warm, so Im guessing vacuum leak? if I unplug my IACV it idles at 1000-1100 rpm but very bumpy, when I plug it back in it starts surging up and down 1000-2000 rpm.

Have you checked timing? I have seen/heard small vacuum leaks "go away" once the car is warm, but a bigger one may be present no matter what until fixed. I assume you have cleaned the IACV out?

Another member with an H swap. Damn. I am thinking more and more that I will have to change my signature. haha j/k

Nah, my H23's such a POS that I think all you need to do is add 'decently' between ''only'' and ''H22''. Anyway, Im such a lazy bum that Ive been spending more time killing braincells with friends than fixing my gimpy car, so no IACV has been cleaned yet. I posted because it doesnt seem to stop when warm, and when I unplug the IACV it still idles weirdly high, higher than its supposed to according to my repair manual, so I thought it might be a more sinister problem than an IACV giving its last fart. I hope its not the fast idle thermo because I REALLY dont wanna take apart the intake and strut tower brace to dick around with a little useless part
