Default hard knocking after head swap

i have a 98 honda civic ex and it had the d16y8 well i ended up spinning a rod bearing and burnt my crank so i sent the crank off but its going to take like 2 weeks to get back so i found a motor for a 93 civic ex which is a d16z6 and i looked up that it wouldnt be hard to just use my y8 head on the z6 block and i got it all together and started but now the oil light stays on except when i rev the motor and there is a hard knock that gets faster and louder as i rev if anyone could help me i would appreciate it

It sounds like your Z6 bottom is no good. Low oil pressure and knocking because the bearings are shot.

Having the cam out of time can cause awful knocking too, but it's of a different sort and usually you have to drive the engine under load before it will occur.
