Question Has spark, compression and fuel - Still won't Start

I have a 98 civic ex - a couple months ago changed the plugs and wires. After that, car started missing/hesitating while accelerating - we checked the wires and it seemed that one of them was sliding off once it got hot, changed the wires out and seemed ok for a while. Last week, started doing it again, this time wires were not moving, after a few days it finally stalled while driving and would not start again. Trailered the car home, tested a few things and car had no spark so we changed the distributor. Car now has spark (and fuel and compression) and will not start - just cranks and cranks. Any suggestions??

Avoid aftermarket wires, they tend to fall apart like you had. Did you use a different type for the second set, or just more of the same? Running the engine with disconnected or faulty wires is likely to blow the coil.

Make sure everything is timed properly and wires in correct order. (With some effort, it is possible to put a distributor on 180 degrees out, the engine will not start). The best way is to remove the upper timing belt cover (which requires lifting the valve cover some to unhook it) and set the engine to TDC1. First confirm crank and cam timing, that the timing belt didn't skip. Then take the cap off and check the rotor points to wire number 1. The other wires go 1-3-4-2 going clockwise looking at the top of the cap.
