Default Hatchback with damp trunk

My 93 Civic hatchback has a damp trunk. The hatch seal appears to be in good condition. I have heard the the tail light gaskets can fail over time. How do I remove the tail light and rear marker light housings to check/replace the gaskets? Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?

I'm another person with a damp trunk - 96 Civic hatchback. In my case, the hatch seal might need replacement, but it doesn't look THAT bad, not enough for the amount of leakage I'm getting. Any suggestions or tips?

And does anyone have thoughts about ChevyTruck's question about the tail light gaskets. Could that be the cause of my problem as well?

hahahaha i had a damp trunk in my 97 hatch and couldnt figure out where the water was coming from at all. so i finally gave in and started to investigate farther and found that at the very top of the hatch the trim was split and seperated and water was getting in through a space about an eighth of an inch at an alarming rate. so i picked up a brand new hatch gasket from the honda house, replaced it, then put a dehumidifier in the trunk over night and it was dry the next day and stayed that way.

Where is it getting damp at, specifically?

The seals should be soft, and not stiff. Try lubricating them with silicon grease (even if they're not stiff, they could probably use it).
