Default Head/Block re-surfacing questions

Hi,
I had the head off my B18C ITR motor resurfaced. 0.1 mm was removed to true it up. While prepping the block I noticed some imperfections and high spots, so I decided to go ahead and have the block machined as well.

My question is with all the metal being lost, lets say 0.2mm total, do I need to purchase a head gasket that's 0.2mm over stock thickness? I imagine not doing so will raise my compression slightly, but my real concern is valve to piston clearance. Is there any danger of valves making contact with the pistons?

Thanks for your help

I'm no expert but I would think you're fine. 0.2 seems negligible and what matters most there is the head gasket seal. The 0.2 might warrant a valve adjustment.

you could always do a clay test to see if you have enough clearance between the piston and valves, you can install 1 piston with a bit of clay make it turn a couple if revolutions and then disassemble it to see clearance, my 2 cents.
