Head Swap

+1. The head will fit (remember non-VTEC needs to have an oil restrictor in the hole in the block, VTEC needs to not have the oil restrictor) and the engine will run, but the ECU will turn on the CEL and go into limp mode when it sees that there is no VTEC hardware. That can be resolved by replacing the ECU with one for a non-VTEC car.
Though I have seen something about reconfiguring OBD1 ECU's by changing resistors or diodes inside.

Yes, the old red-font-will-provide-more-answers-in-a-6-year-old-thread routine.
VTEC...
If you had a VTEC head on the car previously with no issues, why would someone suggest to change it? You're best off creating your own thread about this, too.
