Default Heat takes forever to get warm?

Everything was working fine probably like last month.

I leave for work, and within 3 -5 minutes i would have nice warm heat.

Now it could be 15 or more minutes before i start feeling any warmth to the air being blown out.

Cars temp warms up as it used to from what the gauge is telling me.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Likely it is low on coolant. With the engine cold, take off the radiator cap and make sure the radiator itself is full to the top. If you find the radiator is not full though the plastic tank is, radiator cap could be bad. It regulates the flow between the two.

That's was probably the problem, since my car decided it wanted to overheat this morning on the way to work.
Had to stop off at a gas station off the beaten path to get some coolant so i could get to work.

Nice to hear you got it fixed.
you should monitor the coolant level often to make sure it doesnt happen again. because overheating your engine isint exactly a good thing lol.

btw next time you see the temperature needle start to rise above where its usually at, turn your heater on at full blast to help it stay cooler. (it takes longer to overheat)
but hopefully wont happen again lol

Yeah, i bought this car from a friend, i should have thought to check that in the first place when i was checking everything else out.

I just kept pulling over on the side of the highway to let it cool off. Since it happened to rise in temperature right when i past the last exit off the highway for like 3 or so miles.

After i got the coolent in there, the temp needle stayed at about the halfway point all the way in to work. I'll find out on the way home how long it takes the heat to get warm.

Then this weekend i'll have to inspect for leaks.
