Heater hose busted
OK it's not my Civic. I have a 94 Accord Ex and the Heater line got punctured for some reason. Antifreeze was squirting out like a squirt gun. So I replaced the house and I lost some of my antifreeze when I removed the hose..SO installed new hose add more coolant to the radiator turn on the car with cap off so I could get rid of all the air bubbles...DO U think I should still bleed it through the thermostat.It seems that I got all the air bubbles out and I had the Heater turned on at full blast...Any help appreciated I know it's not a civic
Leave the cap off and let it run, so it opens the thermostat then see what happens. You should see water get sucked in at that point. Make sure to top off the radiator, then close the cap - should be good.
Keep an eye on the temp gauge - if there's any weird fluctuating of temps (cool, then quickly hot, then back down again. etc) you might have to bleed air.
I've never had to bleed air out of mine yet using the manual bleed valve. My car runs at a constant 2/5 on the temp gauge (cool side - never seen over the halfway point since I repaired the car after buying it with a blown head gasket, warped head, and clogged radiator - I got lucky) - whether it's 100 degrees outside or 40. Or maybe I'm just kidding myself.

I never bleed it. I just do what you did and it always worked. I guess if you were in a hurry then you have to bleed it but I leave the cap off and wait until thermostat and watch the coolant level go down then top it off and I am good.

I drove my car last night for a couple of hours and it seems it don't need to bleed it. The temp gauge was working just fine
