Default help 98 civic EX passenger CV change

I have already removed the axle out and left it overnight out of the car. The car looks like I lost quite a bit of fluid (its on the ground), my questions are... Is that the differential that has the fluid coming out? If so what do I refill it with? And how do I fill it?

This is normal. It's transmission fluid. How much did you lose? Do you have an automatic or manual?

By the way, during installation of the new axle, initially insert the end of the new axle slowly and carefully straight into the transmission so as not to damage the differential seal.

I would say it was about a 6inch radius of fluid soaked into the concrete, so I dont know what that equates to but that was overnight so how do I fill? Oh and MT by the way... thanks for the heads up too...

Here's a diagram, but I doubt there will be a need to add MTF. If you do, though, only use Honda MTF.

The same fluid serves the transmission and differential. There is only one compartment in the transaxle unit. You should just top up the fluid by pouring new MTF into the fill hole until no more will go in because it starts running back out the hole. Do this with the car level of course.

Okay thanks for that. I will get on it when I get off work... do you know how much that Honda MT oil costs?

A quart of honda mtf oil ranges from 6 to 12 bucks. I go to different parts counter, they always have different prices.
