Help with head removal
#11
ok so i found the vtec solenoid. the only thing i have a question on is what is the little green wire that is hanginh off of it. it seems like it was cut but dont know where it goes.
and i also realized that the motor comes with more then just the motor. has a tranni and a shift linkage i believe. long bar that comes out the tranny that goes towards the back of the car. i think thats what its called. but i dont know what kind of tranny it is. but the motor looks in good shape. filled with oil and oil looks brand new.golden color

alright...when you say i can use the non vtec dizzy. what makes the difference between em. is there a downside of using a non vtec 1. i know there is 1 thats why they are 2 different dizzys. and how can i tell what kind of tranny i have. the motor came with one but not sure from what year car.
this is what the vtec solenoid looks like...what is that wire hanging out of it? is that what i connect to the ecu?

yes thats what you connect to the ecu and also just below that you see the green plug.
the black wire is a ground. and the blue wire goes to the ecu.
when you use a non vtec dizzy on a vtec head only the top bolt hole matches up on the head the other 2 dont. it will run fine until you can get a vtec dizzy then all 3 bolt holes wil match up.
