Default HELP: I can't lock my 2002 Sedan!

When I press the "lock" position of the power locks, all the doors except the driver's side lock. I also can't get the driver's side door to lock manually. It goes like this when the door is open, but when it's shut it works. When it's like this, there is significant resistance to the lock going down, much the same as when I try locking the door with the car running. (it won't lock then, but I'm guessing it's a safety feature?)

So to summarize, the power locks work fine except the driver's door:
Door open, car off: usually won't lock
Door open, car running: won't lock
Door closed: locks (but I can't get out)

I apologize if this has already been adressed, I did a search on here and found nothing on it. Thank you!

its so you don't lock yourself out of your car, any honda/acura i've ever been in is like that.

you can lock the drivers door if you pull the handle and then lock it (like right when you're getting out of your car)
it feels un-neccessary at first but you get used to it real fast

Thank you, talk about a case of RTFM! I took a look in the manual - sure enough, "pull on the handle while depressing the lock button". Can't say I care for that, but if you say it'll become habit, I guess I'll just have to get used to that. Thanks anyway, sorry for being such a dolt!
