Default Help identify part found in driveway?

We think it fell off of my daughters 98 civic EX coupe.
Sorry no picture but we think its a weight that hangs from the exhast.

It a 2" round metal disk, 1.25" thick. with a rubber stem that attaches to a bracket. the bracket is bolted to a piece that has rusted through and broken off.

Something to reduce vibration on the exhast?

Can anyone point to a picture of this exhast weight?

Thanks

Steve

Does any part of it look like this?

If so, it's an exhaust hanger. Sounds like a round metal disc with a metal rod hanging off of it, with one of these rubber exhaust hangers on it.

Those hangers actually hold the exhaust system up to the underside of the car. You can maybe afford to lose one or two of them but after that something will start dragging on the road.

Default thats not it

Thanks for the response guys. No, I've dealt with hangers like your pic shows. This is different. I'll get a pic to show you...

This looks more like a "counter weight" ??? that hangs off the exhaust somewhere..

I don't think that that part is from your car...

...it may have bounced underneath he car on the road somewhere.

That does not look like anything off of a civic. It might have came off of a car passing by or someone might have just threw it in your driveway.
