is it unscrewed? IF so use some long needle nose pliers maybe. Or a magnet.
What part broke? the top? Maybe use some grease inside a plug socket so it will hold it in there....

never try to take out your spark plugs with the engine hot.

If the plug snapped at the thread and the just the porcelain part and the hex head part came out and the threads are still left in the head then your going have to pull the head off the block

we need to know where it snapped off
if it snapped off but you can still unscrew it and you're just having trouble getting it out of the spark plug tube, just use a magnet or long needle nose pliers like StonedCold said

it wasnt hot.. i had just swapped that engine in and it wouldnt start so i thought it might have been the spark plugs... and yes that is what happened, it snapped off like 3 threads down from the hex part :S i kinda figured i would have to take the head off i just wanted to make sure. the engine is a y7 right now so since i have to take the head off anyway i will just swap the y8 head onto it since i still have it.
