91 civic hatch, 1.5L, 5-speed ,daul point. Was running super when it was cold and would sputter when you hit the throttle when it was warm. One day when it was sputtering I hit the throttle and it popped hard through the throttle body and after that car popped and carried on like it was out of time. Checked timing belt, it was in time but had a lot of slap so I changed it and the water pump anyway just to eliminate any thoughts of timing , but it still pops and spits like its out of time when you try to start it. It will start sometimes after cranking for a long time and runs good and itles until it warms up and then sputters and shuts off and will not restart.
