Default HELP! water damage on 00 civic si?

ok i was driving on the highway and there was alot of rain and i get off at an exit. i shift to neutral and wait for the light to change. it turns green and i put it into first and i hear a popping sound and i have to push down harder on the accelerator to go and the check engine light came on. when i shift gears the car jerks ALOT more than it normally does. i dont know if the belt is wet or water got on the battery. help

you might want to take your spark plugs out and see if they have water on them
