Default Hesitation during Acceleration

I have a 2000 Civic EX. When I have the ac on and it is extremely hot out the car hesitates upons excelleration. Almost a jerking feeling. When I stop, the Tach drops down to almost stall the car. If I turn the ac off, it is fine. It is worse is stop and go traffic, but only happens on hot days.

Any thoughts?

The A/C will strain the small Civic engine. This is normal and expected.

Otherwise:
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor - inspect or replace them.

Check ignition timing.

Any CEL codes?

Thanks, no codes. Timing is fine. I checked the plugs adn they were all grey. I cleaned them up really quick to test it, but it is cool today.

I think that I will replace plugs, wires, etc and see what happens

I came here to discuss the same problem with my 98 EX. I am in Phoenix on a short term contract. Its 100 degrees out every day. The AC makes my car hesitate and almost buck when I accelerate. I was thinking vapor locking, but it happens only with the AC.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will change the plugs and stuff. I've always suspected one of the plug wires anyway.
