Default High pitched squeal/sound

Lately mostly in the cold I hear a high pitched sound from inside drivers side when rpms are anywhere in 2000-3000 rpm range, its erratic but sometimes predictable, belts? Somethin major? Its hard to locate from under the hood.

i sprayed some belt dressing on the belts and checked for tightness all good to go. could a pulley be makin this sound? it almost sounds like metal rubbing metal but reeaally high pitched and subtle when it happens like i said around 2000 rpms

Could very well be the alt pulley. Pop the hood with the engine running. Bring up the RPMs with the throttle linkage, and see if you can pinpoint the noise.

i've tried and it almost sounds like its in the heat shield/rad i know that's not possible. maybe the sound is being bounced, if its a pulley would a little spray of lube fix it up?

Generally if an alt pulley or one of the other ones are going, a little spray lube will quiet it for a day or so, but the problem will still be there. Have you tried belt dressing? Sometimes the belt gets a little hazed underneath and slides across the pulley, and the dressing corrects the problem.

No they're not and I've already tried belt dressing. Try spraying the pulleys?
