Default Higher mileage oil changes

My 96 DX has 171k miles (yep, that is the slowpoke Civic but at $2.15/gallon it sure is fun to drive compared to my truck). While 171k may not sound like too many miles to people with history in these cars, that is a lot of hours for metal to rub metal and I think wear is a fact of engine life. When I do an oil change I am thinking about some supplemental lube that is supposed to be for high mileage cars. Does anyone have any experience or an opinion / suggestion for this? I am just looking to go another 170k so if there are any good tricks to help extend the engine life I would appreciate hearing them.

Thanks
KR

Mobil 1 (Regular or Extended Performance... we use regular) (Synthetic)
Or, perhaps Mobil Clean High Mileage (Conventional)
I'm not really into Hondas, but Dodge SRT-4s (dont rape me cuz i mentioned it) and Vipers come from the factory with Mobil 1, as do many other cars, and, thats what I'm always gonna use in my cars.
We used Mobil 1 in my granparents van after the motor was rebuilt, and after 150,000 miles it was still goin strong with no problems (thats when the tranny gave out)
Just my 2cents.

Thanks,
Like I said, I am just trying to keep this car running as long as possible, especially with the cost of gas every day.

if you use synthetic, make sure you check the level often, as synthetic oils tend to leak worse, and blow by rings easier.

Thanks,
I don't know if I will switch. I was mainly interested in hearing whether or not there is a recommendation for a specific high mileage oil or maybe a different viscosity oil due to the age and wear. We used to put heavier duty oils in some of our old farm equipment when they began to wear and they seemed to run better.
