Default holy crap these ebay intake filters suck!

ive noticed lately that my milage has been realy crapy! like abotu 25mpg..... should be geting about 30 or more the way i used to drive!

well i FINALY bought a replacement filter... going with a AEM dryflow filter cause ive heard some good things about them and they dont have to be oiled....

well while yanken off the old filter i riped it apart on accident and first and then i checked it out and looked at how crapy that thing realy is... if you even call it a filter.... its just a steel mesh... not even any kind of paper filter or anything!
i gabed my screw driver thru and and smashed the ends off....
well pictures say athousand words...
i was gonna put one of these cheap intakes on my friends civic but WOW im gonna tell him to buy a replacement filter for it first....
no wonder my crap aint runing any beter and geting worse milage...

the hissing is what you will get with a new intake. beacause your old stock intake had an air mulffler(i know it sounds gay) but anyways it also drew the air in from the bottow right under your light. the tube was longer reducing the amount of vibration from air rushing in. which is all that you are hearing, air rushing into that lovey large gaping whole that is now pushing your gar. if you really open it up i find that mine roars a bit and sounds nice.

When I am running at high rpm's with my stock air box, it kinda sounds like I am boosting, I love it. I can't wait to hear the sound when I get my AEM set-up.

And nice call on the filter, I guess Ebay is out for my option list.

well ebays still good.... just gotta buy two kits.LOL the intake tube and a good filter...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...650&rd=1,1

and well i think i screwed up.... checked milage today BUT says 50mpg so im preaty sure i forgot to clear the milage.LOL
and well tomorow i get a good test of the milage with all my mods...
id think my intake and header would help alittle but then my rims probably hurt so i dont think its much of a improvement.LOL BUT ill find out tomorow when i do my road trip tomorow 2.5hour drive and i get my black SI trunk lid and spoiler...
hopefully ill just be able to unbolt my trunk lid and just slap this one on.. HOPEFULLY its paint is in good shape... and if i dont like the spoiler after awhile at least ill have my stock one i can swap back on
so i should have a good highway milage numbers tomorow night
just hope i can get the trunk lid into my civic. LMFAO
i think i can make it fit in the back seat.
