Exclamation Honda Ballade/Civic engine wont start

Hi every1

So here is the deal. I am from South Africa and here we have a model Honda called the Ballade 150. It’s a mix from Honda & Mercedes. Basically like a 1994/5 civic just without the V-tech engine and it’s carburettor driven.

My problem is it was driving it nicely yesterday until I parked it and right afterwards I tried to start it and now it does not want to start. The engine cranks, the sparkplugs spark and I cleaned the distributer but no go. I also checked the fuel pump and its working fine. The car does not have any fancy sensors that I am aware of so I don’t know where the problem is.

Any suggestions?

Check the cam timing, sometimes an old timing belt will skip teeth.

The timing belt was replaced about 30000km ago because it had stripped the teeth due to old age but I will have a look, thanks.
