Default hondas typically run with brownish tranny fluid

this is what the dealer told my mother when she inquired about having them do any free work on the auto trans through the service contract. naturally, it's like saying, "yes, your transmission is supposed to slip during normal driving". however, does the small tranny and small fluid capacity darken the fluid more quickly than other cars? this is complete b.s. right? anything else helps. thanks

I'm not sure if it uses a grease or tranny fluid, but as far as I know tranny fluid should be a clear red color. (been a while)

The darker color might be shavings, which IS normal to have... but the fluid should be changed.

02 ex auto w/ 31k mi
standard 3 yr 36k mi warranty i suppose. also, have a service contract
the atf looks like used motor oil with 10k mi on it; varnish smell.
also, the shifter can be easily pushed back into 3rd gear when in drive. maybe the previous owner, who obviously mangled the car, always drove in 3rd without knowing it.......is a flush advised here or multiple drain and fill? anything else helps.
thnx
