There is some truth to what they're saying but it's not as cut and dry as that (aside from mybrokenblinker). Civics are very light cars.... so 200hp in a civic would be like 400hp in a chevelle. Your car prolly has 130hp stock in it. You wont be able to compete against much, unless you're prepared to put some money into it. You add performance parts like I/H/E (intake, header, cat-back exhaust). You will run between 150-160hp. This will cost you between $600-$800. Then if you're prepared to spend even more money, nice cam gear, underdrive pulley's, turbo or nitrous, etc... You'll be able to get into that 250+hp bracket.
Or you could always swap out your engine to a dohc that comes with 200+ hp, add some bolt ons and such then run at 250hp plus.

Theres no way in hell he will hit 150 with I/H/E. Also the only 200+ HP DOHC Vtec out there would be a K-series.

I wasn't being tottaly "technical" to the crank, andwhat not,but the point I was getting at was there.
Maybe not to the wheels, I said with $600-$800 bucks you could get up to 150-160when did I ever say AT THE WHEELS???????and I was being loose with the figures......
I don't mind forty clearing up all the technical information, but four other guys saying virtually the same thing acting like they know just as much as him or mxs....is it needed?
Thanks, well if my posts aren't at all helpful to people and I'm gingerly called a "ricer" then this will be my last post to try to help someone. I've been nothing but friendly to people and I get this crap, no thanks peace.

Anyway, I have a '94 EX, and trust me, it's not going to be the fastest thing ever. Well, stock that is. Generally, if you have the money, invest it in a turbo. It'll give you the most bang for your buck. If you have more money, I'd suggest a swap. A lot of people choose a B-series motorfor their swaps for a few reasons (availability of information/parts, price, good turbo motors, high hp stock motors, etc.). H-and F-series motors offer larger displacements than most B-series motors (the exception being the B20), but are a lot more difficult to swap, and usually don't leave as much room under the hood (good-bye air conditioning). Next up is the legendary K20. If you're lucky enough to afford some Acura DNA for your car, I say go for it! The K20 is an amazing motor (there are quite a few youtube clips of Midwest Automotivework's amazing K20-swapped EK hatch), though it costs well more than an arm and a leg.
Anyway, you should be able to hang with Cavi's, Sunfires, Neons (not the srt-4, for obvious reasons), and other similar vehicles.
personally??? I was quoted 5 times and mocked 4 out of those 5. I come on this forum to learn and try to help others. If I'm wrong about something and you want to correct me...fine. If you come on this forum just to mock and ridicule other people thats pretty pathetic.
